Virtual Reality Development

Virtual reality development has really slowed in recent years and recent progress is not exactly recent. This is more than likely due to public disappointment, further due to the high expectations created by media sensationalisation.


Early applications mainly fell into the vehicle simulator category and were used in training exercises. Thankfully, virtual reality lives on in popular culture as a heavy influence on many consumer products that are in use today. American food and beverage manufacturers are turning to digital media and mobile devices to encourage children to like their products, opening up a new front in the nation’s war on obesity.
   



Virtual worlds combine the power of 3D graphics and the internet, giving users the ability to create new versions of themselves literally within a virtual world.It may be natural for the food and beverage companies to go where their customers are, but Harris worries about the impact this new wave of advertising is having on younger children, who are particularly susceptible to the subliminal messages the advertisements promote.
